New African Christmas Movie One Night Guests to Debut This December
Nollywood producer Chris Odeh has announced that filming for a new movie will commence in Lagos on August 21, with plans for its premiere on December 25 in cinemas across Africa.
“The goal is to craft an African Christmas film that will deeply resonate with audiences. When the director pitched this concept, I was immediately on board to help bring it to life. I’m eager for everyone to experience it,” Odeh shared.
The movie, titled One Night Guests, tells the story of several characters whose lives intersect unexpectedly on a Christmas day. What starts as an ordinary day quickly spirals into a series of surprising events, leading to discoveries, conflicts, and connections that will leave lasting impacts.
Directed by Ghanaian filmmaker Peter Sedufia, One Night Guests is a collaborative effort between OldFilm Productions (Ghana), Sozo Films (Nigeria), and Gravel Road Studios (South Africa).
“This film is not just a movie; it’s a celebration of African storytelling and the rich cultural heritage we proudly present to the world. We anticipate that it will become a beloved family classic, sparking conversations for years, and marking a significant moment in African cinema. Prepare for an extraordinary experience,” Sedufia stated during a press briefing.
Isabella Okechukwu, the General Manager of Silverbird Film Distribution, highlighted the importance of this partnership, emphasizing Silverbird’s dedication to showcasing African talent globally.
“Our involvement in this collaboration ensures that One Night Guests reaches the broadest audience possible, particularly in anglophone West Africa. We believe in the power of cinema to unite people, and this film is set to do just that, offering a unique mix of drama, humor, and cultural depth that will captivate audiences,” she noted.
The film features a star-studded cast, including prominent actors from Nigeria and Ghana, such as Chidi Mokeme, Ini Edo, Yvonne Okoro, Majid Michel, Warri Pikin, Roselyn Ngissah, James Gardiner, Lasisi Elenu, and Akah Nnani.
