Netflix’s Blood Sisters Returns for Season 2 – Official Update

The series premiered on May 5, 2022, attracting an impressive 11 million views in its debut week.

Mo Abudu, CEO of Ebonylife Group, revealed exciting news that the hit Netflix series Blood Sisters will be returning for a second season. In a formal announcement, Abudu shared the news on her Instagram page.

“BLOOD SISTERS SEASON 2 IN THE WORKS. I’m thrilled to share that BLOOD SISTERS 2 is officially in motion, and we had the most amazing table read this past week! After 18 months of development with our talented writers #CraigFreimond, @Zeli_oz and @Adzeugah, the excitement is palpable! Nearly all your favourite characters are back,” her post read.

The first season of the show was helmed by Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang, while the second season will be directed by Daniel Oriahi and Kayode Kasum. Inem King, Ted Abudu, Judith Audu, and James Amuta are returning to the project as producers.

Oriahi is recognized for his work on The Weekend, a psychological thriller that gained worldwide attention following its release on August 31, 2024. Kasum, on the other hand, is known for directing several popular films, including Soole, Sugar Rush, and Áfàméfùnà: An Nwa Boi Story.

The storyline, penned by South African filmmakers Craig Freimond, Zeli Zulu, and Adze Ugah, centers on two best friends, Sarah (played by Ini Dima-Okojie) and Kemi (played by Nancy Isime), who are forced to flee after Kemi accidentally kills Sarah’s abusive fiancé, Kola (portrayed by Deyemi Okanlawon).

Additional members of the cast include Genoveva Umeh, Kate Henshaw, Kehinde Bankole, Uche Jombo, Etim Effiong, Segun Arinze, Patrick Doyle, Michelle Dede, Bolaji Ogunmola, Blessing Jessica Obasi, Mike Afolarin, and Fadekemi Olumide.
