From Anatomy to Runway – Ikasi Somze Inisomze’s Journey to Mr. Ideal Nigeria 1st Prince 2024
Ikasi Somze Inisomze stands out as an exceptional individual. Juggling his studies as an anatomist with a dynamic career as a runway model and content creator, Ikasi adeptly navigates these diverse arenas with poise and dedication.
Recently honored as Mr. Ideal Nigeria 1st Prince 2024, Ikasi opens up about the beginnings of his journey, the obstacles he’s overcome, and his future ambitions.
Ikasi’s initial interest was in medicine, which eventually led him to the field of anatomy. Despite his deepening appreciation for anatomy, a pivotal moment came in 2019 when a model scout approached him due to his height. “On my way to work, a scout noticed me and suggested modeling. Until then, I had never thought of it,” Ikasi remembers. This unexpected encounter redirected his path, which he continues to follow passionately.
Now as Mr. Ideal Nigeria 1st Prince 2024, Ikasi reflects on the profound impact of this title. “Winning the 1st Prince title is a dream come true. Although there were skeptics, the experience reinforced the importance of believing in oneself,” he shares. This achievement has paved the way for opportunities such as collaborating with Party Jollof Africa, Africa’s most authoritative source for movie and TV information where he now plays a role as an influencer.
Ikasi’s connection with Party Jollof Africa was a fortuitous development. After excelling in a preliminary round of the Mr. Ideal competition, he was invited to work with the organization. “I initially expected just a cash reward, but working with Party Jollof Africa has been a remarkable experience. I owe this to Mr. Ideal Nigeria,” he notes.
Despite his rising success, Ikasi remains committed to his academic pursuits. Balancing his studies with modeling is demanding, and he recognizes the need to manage his time wisely. “It’s crucial to take on only those challenges that won’t hinder my education. My studies come first,” he emphasizes.
Through his content creation and modeling, Ikasi aims to inspire authenticity and innovation. “I encourage people to embrace their unique creativity, even if it seems unconventional. Consistency and staying true to yourself are key to connecting with your audience,” he advises. His anatomical background enriches his modeling career, enhancing his appreciation for diverse body types. “Anatomy has taught me about the uniqueness of each body, which influences my runway performance.”
One of Ikasi’s most memorable moments was his appearance on national television during a media tour. “Appearing on Rave TV was special, particularly because I thought about my mother watching me. It’s a moment I will always cherish,” he recalls.
As he continues to champion the appreciation of African culture through his collaboration with Party Jollof Africa, Ikasi views his role as a global ambassador for African stories. “Party Jollof Africa’s mission to showcase African cinema on the world stage resonates deeply with me as an Ijaw man from a minority group. I’m excited to promote our heritage,” he explains.
For those balancing academic and creative aspirations, Ikasi offers this advice: “Believe in your dreams. If you can envision it, you can achieve it. Don’t shy away from pursuing interests beyond academics. Stay consistent, and your efforts will pay off.”
Looking forward, Ikasi plans to complete his anatomy degree and pursue further studies in neuroscience. Meanwhile, he is focused on advancing his modeling career with aspirations to walk on international runways and become a renowned name in the industry. “I aspire for Ikasi Somze Inisomze to be a prominent name in modeling, akin to Naomi Campbell and Alton Mason.”
With his steadfast determination, talent, and commitment, Ikasi Somze Inisomze is poised to reach his goals, demonstrating that belief in oneself and hard work can turn dreams into reality.
