Crazeclown Reflects on Skit-Making Growth – From Fun to Big Business
Crazeclown is recognized as one of Nigeria’s pioneering skit creators, known primarily for his portrayal of Papa Ade. The renowned Nigerian skit maker recently shared his excitement about the rapid growth within the skit-making industry.
In an interview with Hip TV, Emmanuel Ogonna Iwueke, famously known as Crazeclown, reflected on the transformation the industry has undergone. He pointed out that in the early days, skit-making and content creation were not widely accepted.
“I just love the fact that Skit-making is becoming a big industry now. People used to look down on the content industry because they just feel like this is just people having fun online but this is me saying, that it takes a lot of work, creativity, a lot of time, and a lot of intellectual capacity for you to keep creating, being consistent, evolving. I’m seeing people from skit-making doing music, movies, and doing shows,” he said.
Crazeclown gained popularity in 2014 by creating brief skits on platforms like Instagram and YouTube alongside OG Tega. The two portrayed a father-and-son duo, showcasing an exaggerated Nigerian parent-child relationship where a slap would follow even the slightest irritation.
